Developed by Andrew.
Updated on Jun 01, 2009: The current developer version of Chrome supports extensions since May 12, 2009. I developed a PageRank Extension for Chrome, it's a really toolbar extension that automatically shows Google PageRank of the current web page.
With IE or Firefox, we can install Google Toolbar and Alexa Toolbar to check the Google PageRank and Alex Rank. Unfortunately, the current version of Google Chrome doesn't support any extensions such as Google Toolbar and Alex toolbar. So I developed a Javascript Plug-in that allows Google Chrome user to check the PageRank of the page you are browsing. It's a bookmarklet(a bookmark containing JavaScript) in practice, you can also use it in FireFox, Safari or Inetnet Explorer. See example:

Install Google Chrome Plugin: PageRank Status Checker
To install Chrome Google Pagerank Plug-in, please do following steps:
- The way A:
- Make sure your Google Chrome browser always shows the Bookmarks bar. If not, click menu: Tools -> Always show bookmarks bar.
- Drag and drop
PageRank Status
to your Chrome bookmarks bar.
- The way B:
- Make sure your Google Chrome browser always shows the Bookmarks bar. If not, click menu: Tools -> Always show bookmarks bar.
- Right click on the bookmarks bar, and then select Add Page.

- In the Name field, enter "PageRank Status" or something you will remember, then for the URL field paste:
javascript:void(window.open("http://www.chromefans.org/pr/?u="+escape(location.href), "PageRank%20Status%20-%20ChromeFans","width=405,height=120,top=0,left=0,location=0"))

Now the Javascript plugin is installed in your Google Chrome. You can click "PageRank Status" button to view the Page Rank information.
Update History of PageRank Status Checker
- Oct 07, 2008, PageRank Status Checker version 1.0 released.
- Jan 09, 2009, PageRank Status Checker version 2.0 released.
Because Google Chrome current version doesn't support for Google Toolbar and Alexa Toolbar, so it's a lot of vistors of PageRank Status Checker. Unfortunately, Alexa blocked my server IP since Dec 2008. When you check the PageRank, the page always shows Server Busy. :-(
I just modified the server script and released version 2.0, this version uses Widgets method to receive the Alexa data, it works fine now.
The screenshot of version 2:

seriously, the layout of the page is very much crap - http://www.chromefans.org/pr/?u=http%3A//www.chromefans.org/chrome-plugins/google-alexa-page-rank-status.htm! How about a little css in there to make it pleasant to the eye!?

it's simply super, really i like it, tool something in new way.

Hey dude - that frickin' rocks. Very cool. Now how can I stop all the flash crashing I get? Yikes.
Could you print the PR number bigger -- perhaps with an additional graphic bar -- and also make showing the Alexa rank optional (as Alexa is often far off)?
Andrew replied on Oct 14, 2008 18:16 PDT :
Hello Philipp, thank you for your great suggestions! I just modified the CSS style and show the PR number bigger. :)
Thanks this is very useful, shame you cant have the page rank auto update the bookmarks name.

Great plugin, but the problem is that my site takes longer time to load now.
Really useful tool. an excellent effort.
The most important thing is its more generic than one can think. You can use it even with FF/IE or any other browser which supports bookmarks. And you don't need to install any plug-in for it so you are sure you won't add any malware knowingly/unknowingly.
Thanks Andrew.

thanks a lot for this plugin/extension.
Firstly, in Snapshot one can compare only three sites. Secondly, sites with less that 10000 uniques are excluded and thirdly, this is available only for the US audience. These three limitations still keep Google the favorite followed by http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main?url=www.fortunehotels.in Alexa.

Hey, it would be cool if it included a link to the actual alexa traffic details page.
Example: Alexa Rank: 4,500 link --> http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/DOMAIN GOES HERE
Andrew replied on Nov 11, 2008 17:13 PST :
Hello Louis, I have added the alexa traffic details link on the PageRank page.

The side by side dual-view plug-in is really appreciated.
Now, of course, we would like a top and bottom one for comparing wide text.
Any volunteers?

I get Server Busy for both Google PageRank and Alexa...
do you need some more bandwidth?
Andrew replied on Jan 09, 2009 09:26 PST :
Hello Ait, The Alexa server blocked my host IP so I can't get the rank data. I just fixed this problem. :)
Is it possible to Compete.com's unique visitor count to this feature? I think that would really round things out :)

Hi,
Good try, but dynamic urls do not work well. Have a look at http://www.malagaholidays.com/en/malaga_hotels/apartments.asp?Town=Sierra%20Nevada
It as PR 3, but the scripts shows 0. I used other javascripts tricks found on the internet but happens just the same, any idea?

Google page rank.
Instead of opening new window if show result(you can) in same page using frame.
put current page in bottom frame and top frame show Google rank.
your server need to be fasted in replying Google PR ( many times if fail to load).
earn by showing one adv. on that : )
Andrew replied on Jan 09, 2009 18:49 PST :
Great suggestion! I will show rank data in frame ASAP. Thanks. :-)
Thank you for this plug in.
thanks brother its realy works....

****problem is that it does not track the alexa rank when you visit sites, so its good for the information but doesn't really add any value. I hope Google is to fix this soon because chrome is the most stable browser for me.

Thanks

Just a suggestion - it would be awesome if you could click on the "links in" number and have it pull up the links that do link back to the site...just a thought...thanks again for the tool!

Links in from https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ would be awesome. With a hyperlink to site explorer.
Ability to click a whois link and get the site info at domaintools.com.
Ability to click an Archive link and get archive.org.
Thanks this works great, I love using Chrome, but it was hard to use it during web development due to its lack of pagerank feature. Thanks so much.

Allow us to change the URL within the little window. For web sites that have redirects on their home page, this would actually allow us to see our ranking.
Great I missed it for Chrome usages.
Thank You very much.

It would be really helpful and probably attract more people, if you also included a page rank prediction feature, such as the one at iwebtools.
On another note, I'm interested in advertising and link exchange opportunities if you would like to contact me with information about that, or script / software development if you need any help with any projects.
Your site will be in my bookmarks for some time to come. Best wishes.

How would a pagerank prediction feature work? How could it tell not only the total juice coming in, but also the juice required for each pr by google?
