Google Chrome Extension: PageRank Status - Google Chrome SEO Toolbar Extension

I wrote a PageRank Status bookmarklet on Oct 07, 2008. However, it's based JavaScript plugins and not a really Chrome extension. Google announced extensions for Chrome on May 12, the developers can develop and test Chrome extensions now.

I just developed a PageRank Status extension, it's a really toolbar extension that automatically shows Google PageRank of the current web page. With this extension, you can view the Google PageRank and Alexa Rank of the current web page, quick access to Whois, Alexa, backlinks and indexed pages in a popup window.

I just updated PageRanks Status Extension to version 4.0 today, new features:

Supports Mulit-language.
Shows IP address.
Shows Geo location information.
Shows Google Trends and Baidu indexed pages.

I just updated PageRank Status extension for Google Chrome to version 3.0, it's compatible Chrome stable 4.0 and Chrome dev/beta 5.0 now. I have uploaded it to official Google Chrome Extensions gallery, you can install this extension with below steps:

Make sure your Chrome version >= 4.0 or dev 5.0
Visit PageRanks Status Extension
Click Install button
A Confirm Installation dialog shows, click Install button.

Note: If you want view the Google PageRank in toolbar icon like above screenshot, you must install Chrome dev/beta version. The current stable version of Chrome doesn't support for this feature, you must click the toolbar icon and then view the PageRank in the popup window.

Note: The below guidelines is obsoleting.

Guidelines: Install PageRank Status extension for Google Chrome v2.0

~~1. Download and install Google Chrome developer version. If you have installed, ignore this step.~~

~~2. Add --enable-extensions parameter:~~

~~I. Right click the Chrome icon in your desktop, then click Properties.~~

~~II. Click Shortcut tab.~~

~~III. Add --enable-extensions parameter in the Target field:~~

Right click the Chrome shortcut icon, and then add -enable-extensions in the Target field

Mar 14, 2010: PageRank Status 3.0 released, compatible with Google Chrome developer version 5.0 and stable version 4.0

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves 'important' weigh more heavily and help to make other pages 'important

You will need Chromium browser to use extensions, not Chrome.
Chome latest version is 2.xx and Chromium is Deverloper version that starts with 3.
You can download Chromium here: http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/
- check the LATEST directory for recent build

@liju - The quotes should stay around the "c:\.....chrome.exe" and then add the -enable-extensions after the quotes.

The extension does display at the left bottom of the browser, however its not reporting any PageRank as compared to PageRank Status which can be drag and drop to bookmarks bar, it's always "PageRank: N/A"

Would like to see a "how to uninstall" mention especially since it appears for some time now that a lot of users install and then can't use the plugin (the infamous N/A glitch).

Guess I'm off to figure out how to uninstall a chrome extension. Guess I have to sometime...

LOVE the idea of your plugin though, something chrome definitely needs. :) So, big thx. I imagine tough to keep up with Chrome updates...

Before it i was using toolbar in Firefox, but it is much better than that
I am very happy to find SEO status tool which is providing page rank and alexa ranking both and other information its really appreciable.

This seems to have an issue with .co.uk sites - specifically noticeable in the whois part - I don't know about the other bits.

I just downloaded this plugin and like to use this in Chrome. Although I like Google Chrome due to the speed its unfortunate they don't have as many addons as Firefox.

Love the extension! Unfortunately it stopped working yesterday as I believe Google changed the url for 3rd party tools to http://toolbarqueries.google.com/tbr?client=navclient-auto&features=Rank&ch=8f3b58e04&q=info:[URLHERE]

Is this something that will be updated soon?
